On
the Road Again . . . |
 |
Watch Here for a
New Tip Every Week!
An old question came up again recently. I have been asked this
question by everyone from touring rock bands to professional athletes: What is a healthy way to sleep on the road?
Here is a great trick I keep in my bag for athletes. First, you
need to think of a favorite place
as a child. For some people it was
smelling apple pie cooking in Grandma's kitchen, for some (like me) it was
the stables, for some the beach, etc. Our sense of smell is one of
our longest memory senses and forms strong associations for us. If
you love the beach and happen to smell salt water, how do you feel?
Well, this feeling of calm contentment can be artificially created by
making your own traveling sachet. If you are lucky, there is
a spray with your
perfect scent. In which case you can spray your
hotel pillow and sleep like a baby.
For most of us, a mason jar with
a lid allows us to tweak the right formula to be opened later on our
bedside hotel table for a rejuvenating night of sleep. The fun part
is explaining a jar full of horse hair and hay to airport security.
Sweet dreams -- even on the road!
